Milo - our new Chinook Puppy!
Next week Karen and I are flying to Maine to pick up our new puppy: GreatMountain Milo! Milo is a purebred Chinook, born over July 8th and 9th in Windham, Main.
After a (10 year long) family discussion, I finally agreed (relented) that the time was right for a dog in our lives! We did a lot of research and quickly got excited about a breed we had never heard of before - Chinook (pron. Schinook). Chinooks are described as dedicated, loyal, intelligent, calm, non-aggresive and very friendly, always kind with strangers and children. Sounded great to us!
Milo's original name was GreatMountain Cobscook Bay ("Cobscook") and he weighed 14.2 ounces at birth. There are six puppies in the GreatMountain Downeast Litter : 4 boys and 2 girls. At 6 weeks, Milo and his brothers and sisters were all over 10lbs and doing well. They were being raisied at the home of Sara Treat and Gayle Shaw in Windham, ME with the help of the co-owners of Lucy and GreatMountain breeders Penthea Burns and Jessica (Jess) Maurer.
Milo's mom is Lakeside Run Lucy of GreatMountain DNA (VIP TT)
and his dad is GR CH 'PR' GreatMountain Cutler DNA-VIP TT.
(These pictures are from the GreatMountainChinook website! Thanks Jess and Penthea.)
